Gone are the days when getting pizza in London was just about takeaway. The pizza scene here has evolved significantly, offering a diverse range of options from authentic Italian recipes to bold local riffs on classic styles, some of which can be sampled on my London food tours.
After you’ve tried all the great British foods in London, you’ll likely be craving some good old pizza. In this guide, I’ll show you where to find the best pizza in London, from oozing Neapolitan, thin Roman crust, or signature recipes where sourdough serves as the base.
Best Pizzerias in London
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana

I’m going to begin my list of London’s pizzerias with Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, a bustling casual eatery in Soho, highly regarded for its Neapolitan-style pizza. I come here mostly whenever I’m hungry because the portion sizes are massive, which makes digging into the Margherita con Bufala with creamy bufala mozzarella and a sweet San Marzano tomato base all the better.
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana (££) – London W1F 0TF – Open every Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm, and every Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm
Fatto a Mano King’s Cross

Fatto a Mano has a handful of locations across the city, but I frequent their one at King’s Cross regularly. They can’t be beaten for their affordable Neapolitan pizza in London, made with high-quality ingredients in a modern environment.
You’ll be spoiled for choice with their menu, but the ‘Ti Amo Napoli’ is my top pick. Between the salty anchovies and tangy parmesan, every bite was simply delightful.
Fatto a Mano King’s Cross (££) – London N1C 4AG – Open every Monday to Thursday from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm, and every Sunday from 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm
L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Some of the best pizza in London I’ve ever had was at L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Soho. The recipes are as Neapolitan as it gets at this chic venue, with natural ingredients and leavened dough.
I went for the marinara, and recommend you do the same. The tomato sauce was infused with garlic, and the oregano added a nice herby kick. Don’t try to book a table in advance, though, as walk-ins are only available.
L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele (££) – London W1D 4TY – Open every day from 12:00 pm to 12:30 am
50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria

The fancy 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria in Northumberland Avenue blew me away the moment I walked inside with its ornate furnishings. Following many other establishments, Neapolitan pizza is the specialty here, with the spicy diavolo pizza being my go-to order. Unlike other places in this London pizza guide, less is more with their technique.
50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria (££) – London WC2N 5BY – Open every Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 pm to 11:30 pm, and every Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 12:00 am
Crust Bros Pizza Waterloo
Whenever you’re in Waterloo, be sure to add Crust Bros to your list of pizza restaurants in London to try. This unassuming Italian restaurant has garnered a reputation for its build-your-own options, where you can pick every ingredient, including dough, sauce, protein, cheese, veg, drizzle, and dip.
I haven’t tried the ‘build your own’ yet, but I have sampled the smoky ‘Seven Nation Salami,’ which was out of this world.
Crust Bros Pizza Waterloo (££) – London SE1 8UL – Open every Monday to Saturday from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and every Sunday from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Lost Souls Pizza Camden

Where else in the world would you get to visit a vampire-style pizzeria? Only in London’s Camden area, of course. An edgy pizza joint where charcoal-infused dough draws many hungry foodies, you need to try the ‘You Killed Marco Pollo,’ with tender chicken, sweet peppers, onions, and earthy oregano.
Lost Souls Pizza Camden (££) – London NW1 1BA – Closed every Monday, and open every Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 11:30 pm, and every Sunday from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Pizza Pilgrims Victoria

All Londoners have heard of the trendy chain Pizza Pilgrims, which has a bit of a cult following across the city for its insanely chewy dough and unique recipes.
With numerous locations, my favorite is the one around the Victoria district, where I’ve had the double pepperoni and hot honey pizza on several occasions. Each bite offers a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.
Pizza Pilgrims Victoria (££) – London SW1W 0QP – Open every Monday to Wednesday from 11:30 am to 10:30 pm, Thursday to Saturday from 11:30 am to 11:00 pm, and every Sunday from 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Detroit Pizza

Need a break from Neapolitan pizza in London? Detroit Pizza in Spitalfields is a laid-back pizza place serving up tasty slices just like they do on the streets of Detroit.
It’s one of the only spots in the city I’ve seen selling this type of pizza, so naturally I went for the classic ‘Detroit,’ which was loaded with creamy parmesan and mozzarella cheese, salty pepperoni, and a crispy crust.
Detroit Pizza (££) – London E1 6BD – Open every Monday from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and every Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm
